Tis the season to plan an epic winter getaway, and Southwest is helping by offering one-way flights starting as low as $39.
The sale, which must be booked by 11:59 p.m. PT on December 18, is available for travel in the United States and internationally from January 2024 through May 22, 2024. The sale is non-refundable and tickets must be booked at least 21 days prior to travel.
“Super low sale fares. Hightail it outta town,” Southwest wrote on its website as part of the promotion.
Travel from Atlanta to Nashville; Austin to New Orleans; Denver to Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Santa Barbara, California to Las Vegas; and more from as little as $39 each way. Or hit the slopes for a ski weekend with flights to Salt Lake City, Utah from as low as $104 from Colorado Springs, Colorado or $109 from Austin.
Travellers can also escape the cold with trips to warm-weather destinations such as Cancun for as little as $177 one-way from Fort Lauderdale, or flights to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos from as little as $231 one-way from Los Angeles.
Sale dates vary by location and are valid for travel within the contiguous United States from 3 January to 22 May. The sale is valid for international travel, including Puerto Rico and Hawaii, from 9 January to 22 May.
Travel from the contiguous U.S. to international destinations, Puerto Rico and Hawaii is excluded from March 12 through March 27, while travel back to the contiguous U.S. is excluded on January 16, February 27, February 28 and March 19 through April 3.
The sale comes as Southwest is in the process of upgrading its in-flight experience and making it easier for customers to earn status in 2024. It also comes as the airline is considering adding red-eye flights to its roster, with CEO Bob Jordan recently calling it a “logical evolution” for the airline.
