by Alice

YTL Hotels has officially opened two new properties in Malaysia. These new hotels expand the group’s urban portfolio in important cities. They also offer different experiences for both local and international travelers.

The first property, Moxy Kuala Lumpur Chinatown, is the first Moxy hotel in Malaysia’s capital city. It is located in the historic Oriental Bank building on Jalan Hang Lekiu. The hotel has 21 floors and 320 modern rooms. The original architecture of the building has been preserved on the outside. Inside, the design mixes modern style with cultural elements inspired by Chinatown. This includes street art murals, bright colors, and flexible interiors.

Each guest room features adjustable furniture, industrial-style lighting, and local artworks. The design reflects the lively street culture of Kuala Lumpur. Guests receive a free drink when they check in at the Zone In area. Zone Out is the all-day dining space where guests can eat or work remotely. Next to the pool is Bar Moxy, which serves as a daytime hangout and turns into a social spot in the evening.

The second property is the AC Hotel by Marriott Ipoh. This hotel offers a design-focused mix of business and leisure in one of Malaysia’s cities rich in heritage. It has 291 rooms with simple designs, neutral colors, and workspaces to support both comfort and productivity.

Dining options at the hotel include three venues:

  • AC Kitchen, serving continental breakfast and Malaysian dishes
  • Luk Yu, a Cantonese restaurant
  • AC Lounge, offering tapas and drinks in a modern setting

For events, the hotel features a Grand Ballroom that can hold up to 1,600 guests for theatre-style events or 800 for banquets. Smaller functions can use the Junior Ballroom and breakout rooms. The Tin Mine Club offers a private space for meetings. There is also a co-working area called the AC Genius Lab.

Other facilities at the hotel include a gym, swimming pool, four indoor pickleball courts, and Studio 88, a recording studio space for corporate or creative events.

These two new hotels show YTL Hotels’ ongoing commitment to growing Malaysia’s tourism sector. They provide travel professionals with more options in both major and secondary cities.
