by Alice

Agoda has extended its partnership with Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism to help grow travel in the country. The goal is to increase both international and domestic visitors. This effort supports the Ministry’s Tourism 4.0 strategy, which focuses on using digital technology and data to improve the tourism sector.

The new agreement will last for three years. It includes joint marketing campaigns, promotion of sustainable tourism, and training programs. These programs aim to improve digital skills among young people working in Indonesia’s tourism industry.

Under the previous agreement, Agoda worked with the Ministry on several campaigns under the Wonderful Indonesia brand. These campaigns promoted sustainable tourism and included collaborations with public figures, destination promotions, and support for national tourism goals.

Agoda’s digital travel platform offers services for accommodation, transport, and activities. The company continues to work closely with the Ministry to support tourism growth in Indonesia’s fast-changing digital environment.

Gunawan said, “This partnership shows our shared commitment to helping Indonesia succeed as a top travel destination. It also ensures local communities benefit from the opportunities tourism brings to their economies.”

Bayu Aji, chief secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, added, “We are happy to deepen our partnership with Agoda. It not only helps improve Indonesia’s image as a vibrant and sustainable tourist destination but also prepares our tourism workforce for the future through programs like the Agoda Academy Workshop.”
