AirAsia Teams Up with Western Australia to Boost Travel to Perth

by Alice

AirAsia and Tourism Western Australia (TWA) have announced a new partnership aimed at increasing travel between Malaysia and Perth. Perth is one of AirAsia’s key destinations in Australia.

As part of this collaboration, AirAsia will give away discount codes worth a total of RM400,000 for flights from Kuala Lumpur to Perth. Each discount code is valued at RM200. This offer is designed to encourage more people to travel and to reward passengers. It supports AirAsia’s goal of making air travel more affordable and accessible.

This partnership highlights Perth as a top destination for travelers looking for a blend of nature, culture, and city life. Known as “Australia’s Western Gateway,” Perth is famous for its beautiful landscapes, clean beaches, lively arts scene, and relaxed atmosphere.

Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia, said, “Perth has always been one of AirAsia’s favorite Australian cities. Since we started flying there in November 2007, we have carried millions of passengers. For many Malaysians, Perth feels like a second home. We are excited to work with Tourism Western Australia to encourage more people to visit and to offer affordable travel options.”

Anneke Brown, Managing Director of Tourism Western Australia, said, “This partnership is an important step in attracting more Malaysian visitors to Western Australia. Our ‘Walking On A Dream’ brand highlights travel experiences that connect with nature and culture. Malaysia is one of our key markets because of its close location, Perth’s strong flight connections to Kuala Lumpur, and similar time zones. We look forward to welcoming more Malaysian travelers.”

AirAsia has been expanding in Australia since 2007. AirAsia Malaysia and its sister airline, AirAsia X, fly direct from Kuala Lumpur to four Australian cities: Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and soon Darwin. The Darwin route will start on 27 June 2025 with four weekly flights. Together, these airlines offer 22 flights weekly.

The AirAsia Group also includes Indonesia AirAsia, which flies from Bali to Darwin and Cairns three times a week, and offers up to 28 weekly flights to Perth. Indonesia AirAsia will add flights to Adelaide starting 25 June 2025 with four weekly services.
