Tourism Whitsundays has announced that 120 tourism businesses in the region have been honoured in the 2025 Best of Queensland Experience Program (BOQEP). This is the highest number ever recognised from the area.
This milestone reinforces the Whitsundays’ reputation as one of Queensland’s top tourism destinations.
The businesses recognised cover a wide range of services. These include accommodation, attractions, food and drink, tours, and transport. Their success shows the strong dedication of Whitsundays operators to providing world-class, visitor-focused experiences.
The Best of Queensland Experience Program is run by Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ). It partners with Queensland’s Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs), the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), and the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI). The program evaluates businesses independently. It looks at customer reviews, digital presence, RTO membership, and formal accreditation.
Tim Booth, CEO of Tourism Whitsundays, said, “We have seen a record number of businesses achieve BOQ status in 2025. This is a great credit to the tourism operators here and a key reason for the region’s ongoing success.”
He added, “Congratulations to all operators who have earned Best of Queensland recognition this year.”
The Best of Queensland Experience Program stamp is a symbol of excellence. It helps visitors easily find high-quality and trusted tourism experiences when planning their trips in Queensland.
