GeoSure, a provider of travel and safety risk assessments, has launched a new safety certification aimed at recognizing hotels and destinations that excel in safety standards.
The new certification, called GeoSure Safety Badges, is designed to highlight both destinations and accommodations that meet high safety criteria.
The certification features two main badges:
- 5-Star Safety Badge – Awarded to the top 20% of destinations that score the highest in GeoSure’s evaluation system. This system assesses safety in various areas, including physical safety, health protection, and safety measures for women and LGBTQ+ travelers.
- Safe Traveler Favourite Badge – This badge is given to destinations and accommodations that consistently receive high safety ratings from travelers, according to GeoSure.
Hotels and destinations that earn these badges can display them on their websites or booking platforms, offering additional safety assurance to travelers when making booking decisions.
Michael Becker, co-founder and CEO of GeoSure, shared that the goal of the badges is to create a “safety differentiator” for online booking platforms. This would help highlight properties and destinations that are included in corporate preferred hotel programs.
“It’s all about emphasizing trust and showcasing the positive side of safety,” Becker added.
