At the recent Trevello conference in Jamaica, Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International (SRI), revealed plans to build a new Beaches Resort in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The new resort will be an all-inclusive, family-friendly destination. It will be SRI’s second resort in the country, following the launch of Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
SRI already operates three family-focused Beaches Resorts in the Caribbean: Beaches Negril and Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica, and Beaches Turks and Caicos in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Stewart shared his vision for the future at the conference, held at the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, saying, “We’re going to continue to build our company into what we call Sandals-Beaches 2.0.”
The Beaches expansion project involves nearly $1 billion in investment. The first phase will begin later this year with the groundbreaking of Beaches Barbados. The Barbados resort, which has generated much anticipation, will feature a “Main Street” with dining and shopping options, along with “high-energy family zones,” including outdoor performance stages, a sports bar, and an arcade.
Additional projects include the development of Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica, as well as the transformation of Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas into Beaches Exuma.
