Thousands of holidaymakers face travel disruption across Europe this summer as Eurostar announces widespread service cancellations and delays. The affected period runs from May 18 to September 6, 2025, impacting major routes including Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels.
Eurostar has confirmed that operational restrictions and engineering works will result in reduced services and several train cancellations. Travellers are urged to plan ahead and check updates regularly.
Key Cancellations and Affected Routes
May 18 to July 19: Several services between Brussels Midi/Zuid, Amsterdam Centraal, and Paris Gare du Nord will be cancelled.
June 6 to June 15: A limited service will operate between Amsterdam Centraal and Disneyland Paris (Marne-la-Vallée Chessy) due to engineering works.
June 19 and July 10: Trains between Paris Gare du Nord and Cologne Hbf will be cancelled because of operational issues.
May 31, June 1, June 28, and June 29: Additional disruptions will affect Dutch routes, particularly services linking Amsterdam and Disneyland Paris.
July 20 to September 6: Eurostar will cancel several services on the Brussels-Paris route, coinciding with the school summer holidays.
These cancellations come on top of ongoing European travel issues that have already impacted passengers over the past two months.
Families and Holidaymakers Affected
The disruptions will likely affect thousands of travellers, especially families planning trips to Disneyland Paris and other popular destinations. Eurostar is advising all customers to check their travel plans in advance.
Options for Affected Passengers
Eurostar has provided three options for customers booked on cancelled services:
- Exchange the booking for free in the same travel class for another time or date.
- Receive an e-voucher valid for 12 months.
- Request a full refund.
Passengers have up to three months from their original departure date to select one of the options.
