Hawaiian Airlines has teamed up with Disney to mark the upcoming live-action debut of Lilo & Stitch by unveiling new aircraft liveries inspired by the beloved character. The airline’s Airbus A330, A321, and Boeing 717 planes will showcase unique designs featuring Stitch.
The first livery, already on display on Hawaiian’s Airbus A330, features Stitch posing in a way that mirrors Pualani, the airline’s original design. The second design, inspired by Stitch’s artwork, will be unveiled on the Airbus A321 next week. A third, as yet undisclosed, design will debut on the Boeing 717 next month.
These vibrant aircraft designs will fly throughout the summer, inviting passengers of all ages to embrace the spirit of ‘ohana (family), a central theme of the Lilo & Stitch story.
In addition to the new liveries, passengers aboard Hawaiian Airlines flights can enjoy a variety of Stitch-themed experiences. Stitch will make a surprise appearance in the airline’s Travel Pono in-flight video, offering an augmented reality (AR) experience of the Hawaiian Islands through the airline’s mobile app, and the opportunity to purchase exclusive co-branded merchandise on the Hawaiian Airlines website.
“At Hawaiian Airlines, Hawai’i is our home, and we consider our guests to be our ‘ohana,” said Alisa Onishi, the airline’s director of brand and culture. “We hope everyone who visits our islands feels as welcomed as Stitch did when he arrived, just as Lilo welcomed him. We’re excited to have Stitch as our new Travel Pono ambassador, teaching important lessons on being a mindful visitor through the AR experience and in our in-flight video.”
Hawaiian Airlines is using this collaboration to further connect travelers to the welcoming spirit of Hawaii while celebrating one of Disney’s most iconic characters.
