AirAsia Malaysia has announced the temporary suspension of all flights to and from Amritsar, India (ATQ) from 7 to 9 May 2025, due to the closure of Amritsar Airport. The airline is actively coordinating with local authorities and closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew.
The suspension will affect passengers scheduled to travel to or from Amritsar during this period. AirAsia has already reached out to all impacted travelers via email and SMS to notify them of the disruption. The airline has provided a range of Service Recovery Options (SROs) to assist with rebooking or refunds.
Available Options for Affected Passengers (Flights between 7–9 May 2025):
- Full refund to the original payment method.
- Credit account valid for two years (730 days) from the date of issuance.
- Rerouting to Delhi (DEL) or Jaipur (JAI) within 30 days of the original travel date.
- Free flight change to a new date or time within 30 days of the original travel date, depending on seat availability.
These options apply to bookings made directly through airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app. Passengers who booked through travel agencies, whether online or offline, are advised to contact their respective agencies for assistance.
Voluntary Changes for Passengers Traveling from 8–14 May 2025:
AirAsia is also offering flexibility to passengers traveling to or from Amritsar between 8 and 14 May 2025, due to the ongoing airport closure. These passengers can choose from the following options:
- Free flight change to a new travel date or time within 30 days of the original departure date, based on seat availability.
- Rerouting to Delhi (DEL) or Jaipur (JAI) within 30 days of the original travel date.
- Credit account valid for 730 days from the date of issuance.
The airline is committed to assisting affected travelers during this period and ensuring minimal disruption to their travel plans.
