The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) have joined forces in a new partnership to grow adventure tourism across the Pacific.
The two groups signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a key step in positioning the Pacific as a top destination for adventure travel.
Through this deal, SPTO gains global visibility and access to ATTA’s resources. Benefits include exclusive event invitations, speaking opportunities, media features, discounted memberships, market insights, and networking events—all designed to strengthen the region’s adventure tourism sector.
A “Game-Changer” for Pacific Tourism
SPTO CEO Christopher Cocker said the partnership makes SPTO an official ATTA partner, opening doors to major opportunities.
“Adventure tourism is growing fast worldwide,” Cocker said. “This collaboration puts the Pacific in the spotlight. We’ll work with ATTA to create new prospects for our members and attract travellers looking for sustainable, authentic adventures.”
The two organisations will also consider joint research on adventure travel trends in the Pacific. The findings will help shape data-backed strategies and improve the region’s market appeal.
A Shared Focus on Sustainability
ATTA CEO Shannon Stowell welcomed SPTO into its network, praising the Pacific’s unique offerings.
“The Pacific has incredible adventures—pristine oceans, rich cultures, and more,” Stowell said. “By promoting responsible tourism, we can boost local economies while protecting the region’s natural and cultural treasures.”
As global tourism rebounds, this partnership signals the Pacific’s readiness to welcome adventure seekers with unforgettable, sustainable experiences.
