Air India has announced it will expand its non-stop service between Delhi and Tokyo Haneda, increasing the frequency from four times a week to daily flights starting June 15, 2025. This move aims to enhance connectivity between India and Japan, offering more options for travelers and supporting the growing trade and tourism between the two countries.
The expansion comes after Air India’s recent shift to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport from Narita on March 31, 2025. The move has significantly reduced travel time to central Tokyo, with Haneda now just 30 minutes away from Tokyo Station. The new daily service will be operated using Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, providing passengers with quicker access to the heart of Tokyo, as Haneda Airport is only 18 kilometers from the city center.
Nipun Aggarwal, Air India’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the company’s commitment to meeting the increasing demand for travel between India and Japan. He said, “By offering daily flights, along with our enhanced codeshare partnership with All Nippon Airways, we make it easier for passengers to explore Japan and connect to other destinations in the country.”
As part of its expanded partnership with All Nippon Airways (ANA), a Star Alliance member, Air India passengers will be able to connect to six major Japanese cities—Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo—on a single ticket. Passengers can also have their baggage checked through to their final destination, making travel more convenient.
The new daily flights will also provide better connections to several domestic Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune. Additionally, passengers can connect to Air India’s international routes across Asia and Europe.
The updated flight schedule, effective June 15, 2025, is as follows:
- AI358: Departs Delhi (DEL) at 8:20 PM, arrives at Tokyo Haneda (HND) at 7:55 AM the next day (daily).
- AI357: Departs Tokyo Haneda (HND) at 11:50 AM, arrives at Delhi (DEL) at 5:25 PM (daily).
