The Philippine Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka is gaining strong attention from international visitors, with more than 40,252 people visiting in the first nine days since it opened on April 13.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the high number of guests shows how the Pavilion has sparked interest, admiration, and connection with people from around the world. Many visitors have called it one of the “must-see experiences” at the Expo.

“This is more than just an exhibit. It is a celebration of culture, creativity, and connection that brings the Philippines to the global stage like never before,” Frasco said. “The 40,252 visitors in just nine days prove the strength of our story, the beauty of our culture, and the spirit of our people. This is a proud moment for all Filipinos.”

On its second day, the Pavilion welcomed one of its first high-profile guests—Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums. She visited the Pavilion after hearing positive reviews and because of her close ties with the Filipino community in Qatar. The Sheikha praised the Pavilion’s design and storytelling. She spent time viewing the artistic scrims and even expressed interest in commissioning a similar piece. She said the blend of tradition and technology in the Pavilion left a strong impression on her.

The Pavilion follows the theme “Nature, Culture, and Community: Woven Together for a Better Future.” Its design and content reflect the creativity, innovation, and spirit of the Filipino people. The exterior features 212 handwoven fabrics that represent the various regions of the Philippines. Inside, visitors experience interactive, technology-driven displays that tell the story of the Philippines in a fresh and powerful way.

One of the highlights is the “Dancing with Nature” installation. It lets visitors become part of the natural environment through light, sound, and movement. Live daily performances by artists from the Cultural Center of the Philippines also bring music, warmth, and authenticity to the Pavilion.

Maria Margarita Nograles, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, said their team is working hard to make every guest feel welcome and at home. “We want everyone who visits the Pavilion to feel inspired to explore the Philippines. At the heart of our country is our people—and by empowering them, we share the best of who we are with the world,” she said.

The Pavilion continues to attract thousands of visitors every day. It not only showcases Filipino culture but also promotes the Philippines’ goals for sustainable tourism, inclusive growth, and cultural diplomacy.

“This Pavilion is our way of inviting the world to feel the warmth of our hospitality, to admire the beauty of our islands, and to connect with the soul of our people,” Frasco said. “We welcome everyone to see for themselves why there is every reason to Love the Philippines.”
