SeaLink Marine & Tourism, part of the Kelsian Group, is set to present a range of new tourism experiences at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2025, opening tomorrow at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Donna Gauci, CEO of SeaLink Marine & Tourism, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable travel, stating, “Our mission is to connect people to Australia’s most unique and beautiful places in meaningful ways.” She added that the company continues to innovate with new products, infrastructure improvements, and cultural experiences to attract more visitors to explore Australia’s beauty.
Earlier this month, Kelsian Group announced it is considering selling its resort, tour, and ferry services, including the Fraser Island resort in Queensland and the SeaLink ferry service. This move comes as part of Kelsian’s ongoing efforts to restructure, reduce debt, and simplify its operations.
Kelsian, Australia’s largest tourism and transport operator, reported a 9.9% increase in debt, reaching $933.2 million as of December 31. Despite these financial challenges, the company’s tourism portfolio generated $160 million in revenue during the last financial year. Kelsian’s market capitalization currently stands at $727 million.
Fiona Hele, chairman of Kelsian, explained the company’s strategy, saying, “The sale of the tourism portfolio will allow us to focus on infrastructure and commuter operations, which are supported by long-term government contracts.” These services are seen as stable, providing predictable earnings and cash flow.
Despite the sale of some assets, SeaLink Marine & Tourism is continuing to grow both domestically and internationally. Richard Doyle, SeaLink’s general manager of global sales and distribution, expressed excitement about ATE 2025. “This is a great opportunity to showcase the diverse range of SeaLink’s tourism offerings to a global audience. We are proud to collaborate with our partners to boost visitor numbers and share Australia’s rich history and modern culture with the world.”
