Rail Europe and Headout have announced an expanded partnership aimed at simplifying European train bookings for travelers. Through an API integration, Headout can now offer direct access to Rail Europe’s vast train network, enhancing the booking process and providing a smooth experience for users.
This collaboration allows Headout to provide real-time availability, dynamic pricing, and instant booking confirmations for European train tickets. The partnership aligns with Rail Europe’s goal of making train travel more accessible, while also reaching a broader audience through Headout’s platform.
The partnership began in 2023 when Rail Europe introduced rail passes, such as the Swiss Travel Pass and Eurail/Interrail pass, on Headout’s platform. These passes, which offer unlimited travel in Switzerland and access to 33 European countries by rail, quickly became popular among travelers. Building on this success, the companies are now expanding their partnership to include scenic routes like the Bernina Express and Glacier Express, which run through Switzerland’s picturesque landscapes.
Varun Khona, co-founder and CEO of Headout, stated, “Our partnership with Rail Europe aligns perfectly with Headout’s mission to connect people to extraordinary travel experiences. This API integration, along with our transportation product solution, sets a new standard in travel marketplaces by offering a seamless and curated way for travelers to explore Europe by rail. Expanding our collaboration makes it easier than ever for travelers to experience Europe’s beauty, one train ride at a time.”
Björn Bender, CEO & Executive Chairman of Rail Europe, said, “At Rail Europe, we believe train travel is the most immersive and sustainable way to experience Europe. Our partnership with Headout brings European rail journeys to a global audience. By combining our rail distribution expertise with Headout’s dynamic platform, we are making it simpler for travelers to discover and book European trains. We’re excited about this collaboration and the opportunities it will create for the future of rail travel.”
As demand for sustainable and convenient travel options grows, this partnership gives travelers easy access to European trains and a streamlined booking experience.
