Valencia has emerged as one of Europe’s top Easter travel destinations in 2025, drawing tourists from the UK, US, Germany, France, Australia, China, and Italy. A new report highlights how the city’s tourism strategy—focused on connectivity, culture, climate, and promotion—has driven record-breaking numbers this season.

International Tourists Drive Easter Tourism Boom

Valencia’s success this Easter is no accident. The city has worked hard to attract foreign visitors with low-cost flights, strong marketing, and diverse experiences. British tourists enjoy the easy flight access, sunny beaches, and traditional Easter processions. American visitors are drawn to the city’s historic streets, local cuisine, and modern flair, including its signature dish—paella.

Travelers from Germany and France filled many hotels, attracted by Valencia’s relaxed Mediterranean vibe, rich arts scene, and cultural offerings. Tourists from China and Italy chose the city for its architecture, high-end shopping, and safety. Even Australians, despite the long journey, came in greater numbers thanks to better airline connections through Asia and more affordable travel during the Easter shoulder season.

Global Appeal Fuels Year-Round Potential

Easter in Valencia has moved far beyond a domestic event. The city now offers multilingual tours, boutique accommodations, and tailored experiences that suit international tastes. Experts call it a case study in smart destination marketing.

With sharp growth from seven key markets—the UK, US, Germany, China, France, Italy, and Australia—Valencia is turning its Easter success into a launchpad for becoming a year-round international hotspot.

Record-Breaking Holiday Period for Valencia

The wider Valencian Community saw a major rise in tourism this Easter. Hotel occupancy passed 80% across the region. In popular areas like Benidorm, rates topped 90%. A combination of warm spring weather, international flights, and late bookings contributed to the surge.

The Easter boom extended across the provinces—from Alicante’s coastal cities to the quieter charm of Castellón. Local businesses reported strong revenue in hotels, restaurants, and attractions. The data shows a solid recovery for the region’s tourism industry.

Hotel Leaders Credit Strategic Planning

Nuria Montes, general secretary of the hotel association Hosbec, confirmed the strong performance. “All predictions have been fulfilled,” she said, pointing to early planning, marketing, and improved transport as key factors.

While many travelers booked early, a significant portion made last-minute decisions. Warm weather and flexible travel deals helped drive those late bookings, especially among foreign visitors.

International Visitors Fill Coastal Hotels

In cities like Valencia and Alicante, 50% to 60% of hotel guests were from outside Spain. Tourists from the UK, France, Germany, and the Netherlands helped push hotel numbers past expectations.

Benidorm, long a favorite with British holidaymakers, saw particularly strong demand. Direct flights from UK cities and affordable package holidays brought many back to the Costa Blanca. Airlines added more seats this year, showing growing confidence in off-season tourism.

Valencia Airport Sees Flight Surge

The rise in arrivals was also clear at the airport. Valencia Airport in Manises handled 2,626 flights during the Easter period, up 16% from the previous year. The increase in routes and frequency helped bring in more tourists from Europe and beyond.

Spain’s wider tourism plan aims to spread visits more evenly across the year. Easter travel fits that goal. While summer can overwhelm local infrastructure, spring offers a smoother flow that benefits both tourists and locals.

Sunny Weather Adds to the Draw

Easter 2025 came with near-perfect weather in Valencia. Daytime temperatures stayed above 20°C (68°F), making it ideal for sightseeing, beach trips, and outdoor dining.

Major attractions like the City of Arts and Sciences and Santa Bárbara Castle saw big crowds. Restaurants and cafés along the coast stayed busy late into the evening, as people enjoyed warm breezes and seaside views.
