Hyatt Hotels has officially opened its first hotel in Sweden with the debut of Hyatt Place Gothenburg Central, located in the heart of Gothenburg.
The new hotel is situated directly above the city’s Central Station. It features 300 rooms and was previously known as Hotel G Gothenburg. Over the past year, the property has undergone an extensive renovation as part of its transformation under the Hyatt Place brand.
Guest facilities include the Blanche Brasserie & Bar, a modern fitness centre, and meeting rooms for business and events. The largest space can accommodate up to 100 people, making it suitable for mid-sized corporate gatherings or private functions.
Michel Morauw, Hyatt’s Managing Director for Northern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EAME), said the opening reflects the city’s growing appeal.
“As Gothenburg continues to emerge as a hub for both business and leisure travel, we are excited to add to this momentum by welcoming Hyatt Place Gothenburg Central to the city,” Morauw stated.
“With a prime location, modern designed spaces, and thoughtfully sourced dining options, we look forward to introducing guests to all that the hotel has to offer.”
Hyatt Place is part of Hyatt’s select service brand portfolio, offering a balance between comfort, functionality, and affordability. The brand has more than 400 hotels globally, with 12 locations in Europe.
The launch in Gothenburg comes shortly after Hyatt’s recent opening of a dual-branded property in Leeds, UK, combining both Hyatt Place and Hyatt House under one roof.
With this latest addition, Hyatt continues to expand its European presence, targeting both business and leisure travellers in key city destinations.
