Travelers can breathe a sigh of relief—Carnival Cruise Line has officially debunked rumors about banning coffee to-go cups onboard. After days of frustration and confusion, the cruise company confirmed passengers can still enjoy their favorite brew anywhere on the ship.
The controversy began when a guest on the *Carnival Vista* claimed that JavaBlue Café and dining areas would no longer provide to-go cups. The post spread quickly, with many passengers upset at the idea of being forced to drink coffee only at designated spots. Some questioned Carnival’s reasoning, suggesting it was an odd attempt at sustainability.
Thankfully, Carnival’s brand ambassador, John Heald, stepped in to clarify. “Of course, it isn’t true,” he said, putting an end to the speculation. The cruise line confirmed that guests can still take coffee from restaurants, cafés, and bars in disposable or reusable cups—just as before.
While Carnival doesn’t have full Starbucks stores onboard, many ships serve Starbucks-branded coffee at JavaBlue Café. Regular drip coffee is complimentary in dining areas, but specialty drinks (like lattes and frappés) cost extra, usually between $4 and $8.
For frequent coffee drinkers, Carnival offers beverage packages like the Zero-Proof Package, which costs around $30 per day and includes unlimited specialty coffees, sodas, and premium juices. Some travelers even bring their own travel mugs to get larger servings.
Misinformation spreads fast on social media, especially when it involves beloved travel perks. Carnival’s quick response helped reassure guests before the rumor caused bigger problems. Passengers can continue their usual routines—grabbing coffee to enjoy on deck, in their cabins, or while exploring the ship.
With the rumor resolved, Carnival fans can focus on the more important parts of their cruise: relaxation and adventure. So, next time you’re onboard, rest assured—your morning coffee run is safe!
