After 17 years at the helm, Grafton Travel owner Corey Bertali is handing over the reins to Louise Thompson, a seasoned travel expert deeply rooted in the community. The transition marks a new chapter for one of Australia’s longest-running travel agencies, which has operated under the same name for an impressive 75 years since its founding in 1949.
Thompson, a true “Grafton girl,” has spent her entire 13-year career with the agency, building strong relationships with local travelers. Her promotion ensures continuity for the Helloworld Travel-affiliated business while keeping its legacy alive.
Bertali expressed full confidence in his successor, noting her expertise and deep community ties make her the perfect fit. “Louise’s outstanding abilities will carry on Grafton Travel’s tradition as a beloved local business,” he said.
The new owner shared her enthusiasm about leading the historic agency forward. “Corey and I have always worked seamlessly together, and I’m thrilled to continue this journey,” Thompson said.
Nick Sutherland of Helloworld Travel praised both the outgoing and incoming leaders, acknowledging Bertali’s 17-year stewardship and welcoming Thompson to her new role at the helm of this iconic travel institution.
