Virgin Voyages has reported its most successful season yet, with revenue climbing 45% and bookings up 34% year-over-year. The adults-only cruise line credits its new longer voyages and strong travel advisor partnerships for the impressive results.
Extended Itineraries Drive Demand
The introduction of 8 to 14-night cruises has been particularly successful, with these longer voyages seeing bookings surge more than 50%. Travelers are showing strong interest in the line’s unique combination of premium amenities and adults-only atmosphere across new destinations.
Industry Recognition
Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu highlighted the brand’s growing popularity, noting its ships offer an intimate yet varied experience that keeps guests coming back. The company’s repeat booking rates remain among the highest in the industry, with many passengers reserving their next cruise before disembarking.
Strategic Changes
Despite the strong performance globally, Virgin Voyages recently decided not to return to Australian and New Zealand waters for the 2024/25 season. This move comes after the Resilient Lady completed just one summer season sailing from Melbourne and Sydney.
Digital Success
The cruise line has also seen exceptional growth online, with web searches increasing 25% – outperforming most competitors. This digital momentum reflects Virgin Voyages’ strong brand appeal and effective marketing.
