JATI, a new private island resort created by the team behind Shinta Mani Hotels, is set to open on April 1. Located off Cambodia’s southern coast, the resort promises a blend of Khmer-inspired luxury and a relaxed island atmosphere.

To mark its debut, JATI is offering introductory rates starting at US$168 per night for a one-bedroom private villa. This special ‘JATI Sunrise’ promotion runs from April until September 30, 2025.

The resort features 82 villas and is situated on Koh Russey, also known as Bamboo Island, in the Koh Rong archipelago. It is a 10-minute speedboat ride from the resort’s private pier at Ream Beach, near Sihanoukville. The name JATI, which means “rebirth” in Sanskrit, reflects the resort’s focus on renewal and wellness.

Dining is a key highlight, with multiple restaurants bringing a mix of local and international flavors. Guests can enjoy breakfast at Arun Beach Café, cocktails at Banyan Lounge, and fresh seafood at the Beach Club. The resort also features branches of popular Phnom Penh restaurants Le Manolis and KoKo.

For families, the soon-to-open Seahorse Kids Club offers beach adventures and activities, while babysitting services are available for parents seeking relaxation. Additionally, a 300 sqm thatched-roof Events & Conference Centre, designed for weddings and corporate retreats, is set to open later this year.

JATI is one of Asia’s most highly anticipated resort openings in 2025. The resort is part of HMD Asia’s portfolio, which includes Shinta Mani Resorts and boutique heritage properties such as La Residence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang and La Residence D’Angkor in Siem Reap.

Anthony Lark, Executive Director of HMD Asia, expressed excitement about the launch. “JATI invites guests to experience the unspoilt beaches of southern Cambodia with a vibrant Khmer-inspired private island retreat. With outstanding dining, exceptional leisure activities, and extensive spa and wellness facilities, JATI offers incredible value.”

Along with the Shinta Mani and La Residence brands, HMD Asia also owns and operates the TRIBE hotel in Phnom Penh.
