Etihad Airways has teamed up with the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) Abu Dhabi to introduce the new Abu Dhabi Pass at the ITB Berlin event.
The Abu Dhabi Pass offers a digital solution to enhance the visitor experience in the emirate. Etihad passengers will receive an email containing a link to the pass, which can be accessed through a dedicated website—no app download or extra cost needed.
This free pass unlocks several benefits for all visitors, including Etihad passengers. It offers a 10GB tourist SIM card for staying connected, unlimited access to public buses, and a 24-hour pass to the hop-on-hop-off bus that takes visitors to key attractions in the city.
Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, commented, “The launch of the Abu Dhabi Pass is part of our commitment to providing seamless access to the emirate’s world-class attractions, landmarks, and entertainment. Through this partnership, we aim to promote Abu Dhabi as a top global destination and make it easier for our tourism partners to showcase what the emirate offers.”
Etihad Airways’ Vice President of Commercial Enablement and Engagement, Aysha Al Kaabi, added, “This collaboration enhances the appeal of Abu Dhabi’s attractions. By combining transport, connectivity, and attraction discounts in one digital pass, we’re making it simpler for visitors to enjoy everything from cultural experiences to family entertainment.”
The partnership builds on the success of Etihad’s stopover program, which saw a significant increase in international visitors. In 2024, the program welcomed 85,000 visitors, up from 12,000 in 2023. In 2025, Etihad expects to host over 130,000 stopover guests, marking a 50% year-on-year increase. Passengers booking through Etihad’s website can also enjoy a complimentary hotel stay of up to two nights, making their stopover a more rewarding experience.
Abu Dhabi Pass holders can also enjoy exclusive discounts, including 15% off at cultural sites like Qasr Al Watan and Louvre Abu Dhabi, along with special rates at Yas Island’s attractions such as Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld Yas Island, and Yas Waterworld. The pass also provides savings at over 200 restaurants and on popular experiences like desert safaris and guided city tours.
The Abu Dhabi Pass supports the emirate’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to attract 39.3 million visitors, create 178,000 new jobs in tourism, and contribute AED 90 billion to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by 2030. The strategy is further supported by ongoing infrastructure improvements, including the new Terminal A at Zayed International Airport and an expanded calendar of cultural and entertainment events.
With the Abu Dhabi Pass, visitors can enjoy great value while exploring all that Abu Dhabi has to offer.
