AirBaltic Pilot Academy Expands, Welcoming 15 New International Students

The airBaltic Pilot Academy has announced the addition of 15 new students to its training program, marking the arrival of its 26th group of aspiring pilots. These students will begin their journey toward earning commercial pilot licenses through the airline’s rigorous full-time Airline Transport Pilot program.

Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited to welcome our new students to the airBaltic Pilot Academy. Our academy continues to expand, and our second Airbus A220 simulator is a testament to our commitment to providing top-tier training. The new students come from various countries, including Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, and Sweden, highlighting the academy’s international appeal. Currently, the academy is home to 163 active students, with a significant portion coming from the Baltic nations and the European Union. More than 10% of the student body is female, emphasizing the academy’s dedication to diversity and inclusion.

Since its inception, 131 graduates of the academy have joined airBaltic, contributing to the airline’s growing team of pilots. To further enhance training, airBaltic has recently introduced its second Airbus A220 full-flight simulator. This advanced simulator will help accommodate the increasing number of students while ensuring high training standards are maintained. It will also play a crucial role in supporting airBaltic’s fleet expansion, preparing pilots to operate the latest aircraft in the airline’s growing fleet.
