Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have renewed their strategic partnership to encourage more travel from Malaysia to Singapore. The collaboration aims to promote Singapore as a top destination for Malaysian travelers while increasing tourism spending and visitor numbers at popular attractions.
In a statement released on Monday, MAG outlined plans for joint marketing campaigns and curated travel offerings. These initiatives will feature Malaysia Airlines and Firefly crew members exploring Singapore’s iconic sites, such as Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer, Resorts World Sentosa’s SEA Aquarium, Universal Studios Singapore, Mandai Wildlife Reserve, and the Museum of Ice Cream.
To celebrate the third year of their partnership, MAG and STB will also introduce enhanced travel benefits for MAG customers. These include exclusive boarding pass privileges in Singapore. The initiatives are timed to align with peak travel periods, such as year-end holidays, school breaks, and festive seasons, ensuring better accessibility and value for travelers.
The renewed partnership coincides with Firefly’s expansion of its Subang jet operations. Starting March 25, 2025, Firefly will launch direct flights to Changi International Airport (SIN), offering more travel options for both business and leisure travelers.
Dersenish Aresandiran, MAG’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the continued collaboration. “We are pleased to further position Singapore as a key destination within the MAG network. In this next phase, we aim to highlight Singapore’s vibrant attractions while delivering enhanced value to our customers through tailored products and exclusive promotions,” he said.
Terrence Voon, STB’s Executive Director for Southeast Asia, echoed this sentiment. “We are excited to deepen our partnership with MAG and offer unique promotions in Singapore. We look forward to welcoming more Malaysian visitors, who can explore our city’s diverse experiences and discover the value it has to offer,” he said.
The renewed partnership underscores both organizations’ commitment to strengthening travel ties between Malaysia and Singapore, making it easier and more appealing for travelers to explore what Singapore has to offer.
