DERTOUR Group has announced its acquisition of I.D. Riva Tours, a well-established operator specializing in travel to Croatia. This acquisition strengthens DERTOUR’s position in the specialized travel sector by expanding its Croatian portfolio, which includes a wide variety of experiences, from small vessel cruises and group tours to vacation rentals.
Founded with a team of 55, I.D. Riva Tours has earned a strong reputation within the Croatian market, offering curated travel experiences across the country. The company partners with nearly 400 hotels and resorts, manages a fleet of over 30 exclusive yachts and motor sailboats, and boasts a collection of more than 200 private vacation homes for travellers seeking distinctive accommodations.
This acquisition is part of DERTOUR’s strategic plan to enhance its offerings in the niche travel market. It follows a recent purchase of Solmar Villas, a British operator known for its luxury vacation rentals. Pending regulatory approval, the deal with I.D. Riva Tours is expected to finalize by the first quarter of 2025.
What the Acquisition Means for Travellers
Travelers can expect a seamless transition, as DERTOUR has confirmed that I.D. Riva Tours will continue to operate under its existing brand. Both companies are committed to maintaining the same reservation systems, points of contact, and service standards that customers and partners have come to expect.
Looking ahead, DERTOUR plans to further expand its Croatian offerings. Key to these efforts will be the partnership with Destination Touristik Services, DERTOUR’s local agency with offices in Pula and Makarska. Additionally, new joint offices are in the works, underscoring DERTOUR’s dedication to enhancing accessibility to Croatia for international travellers.
A Growing Destination for Tailored Travel
This acquisition underscores the rising popularity of Croatia as a premier destination for unique, customized vacations. DERTOUR and I.D. Riva Tours executives have expressed enthusiasm about combining their expertise to deliver even more curated travel experiences. Dr. Ingo Burmester, CEO of DERTOUR Central Europe, highlighted that I.D. Riva Tours’ 30+ years of experience will complement DERTOUR’s expanding portfolio. I.D. Riva Tours CEO Konstantin Gaitanides echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the acquisition will help preserve the authenticity of the Croatian travel experiences on offer.
For travellers, this means even more options for exploring Croatia, supported by the combined expertise of both companies. As DERTOUR continues to develop its Croatian travel offerings, it promises an exciting future for those seeking to explore one of Europe’s fastest-growing tourist destinations.
